Group 1 entrant Loch Lein shed her maiden tag at the third time at Cork today as the Jessica Harrington trained filly landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden under Championship leader Shane Foley.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit carried form-figures of '32' to today's race and made it third time 'lucky' when outing her rivals and eventually beating Queens Carriage by a comprehensive six lengths.

Afterwards Harrington's daughter Kate Harrington stated “she is a lovely filly and we've always thought a lot of her. She has a massive frame and is thriving on her racing.

“She has entries in the (Group 1) Cheveley Park (at Newmarket) and there's a race at Fairyhouse (Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes) for her but we'll let mum decide and whatever she does this year, she'll be a better filly next year.

“Shane said she hated the soft ground the last day and I was worried about the ground being too quick today but she handled it really well.”
