The Manguard Plus Handicap saw Carrytheone (11/2) win by half a length from the staying-on Mythologic (11/1) with the 15/8 favourite Dance Jupiter (not the clearest of runs over a furlong out) back in third place.

The Johnny Murtagh-trained winner had beaten subsequent winner Finans Bay in a course and distance maiden in July before unfortunately clipping heels and unseating rider early in his first handicap start here in August, where he crashed out through the running rail when loose.

The Lope De Vega gelding, winning off a mark of 97, showed he was none the worse as winning rider Shane Kelly (11th winner of the season) confirmed: "He clipped heels the last day but thank God he forgot about it. He’s a nice one to look forward to and I’d say he’ll step up again.

“He did it easy enough. He travelled well, quickened and got a bit tired near the end but he’s got a bit of class.”
