Carroll Excels on Un Hinged
James Nash, assistant to trainer, John Coleman, was fulsome in his praise for Gary Carroll after the young rider got Un Hinged home by half a length from Snap in the Derek O'Sullivan Memorial Apprentice Handicap at the Curragh.
Nash said: "Didn't he give him some ride ? for a kid. It was like watching one of the pros." Meanwhile Coleman echoed those sentiments by commenting: "Gary was very good on him, he did what he was told. The horse was off for a year and it is good to see that all his old ability is still there. He could go jumping, we'll see."
Gary Carroll from Kildare town, is a son of former jockey, Ray Carroll, associated with the Oxx yard for many years and now working for Dermot Weld. Gary rode his first winner on Good Time Sue at Fairyhouse in June and Un Hinged was his fourth success. (EM)
