Caduceus proves tough customer in bumper
Caduceus winner of a Donore point-to-point, made a winning debut 'under rules' when claiming the concluding bumper at Punchestown.
The son of Luso was always prominent and was sent to the front three furlongs out by Robbie McNamara.
He was pressed in the straight but kept on well to score by a length-and-three-quarters from Frisco Depot
"He's tough and being from the Carrigeen family is a chaser out and out," said trainer Pat Hughes.
"He'll go hurdling shortly, probably over 2m4f as he's an out and out stayer."
