Space Cadet confirmed the promise of his hurdle debut at Navan last month by taking the Donohue Marquees Flat Race in clear-cut fashion at Leopardstown.

The 13/2 chance stayed on strongly up the straight in the testing conditions under Jamie Codd to beat First Figaro by over six lengths, with 7/4 favourite Easy Street all of 16 lengths further back in third.

The remainder of the nine-strong field were well strung out.

Winning trainer Gordon Elliott said, "He's a very nice horse. His run the last day was there for all to see where he was very green and flew home.

"He won't go back over hurdles until next season, and will go for a winners' bumper. We could look at Punchestown."
