Byrnes Back on Track
Half-an-hour after the Solwhit reverse, the Charles Byrnes outfit were back in the winner's enclosure after the easy-to-back Dromin Hill Echo stayed on dourly to land the Molony Cup Handicap Chase in the hands of Lenny Flynn.
The son of Presenting was following up a course and distance success from twenty four days back and after missing the third last the chestnut got to the front after the next, going on to account for favourite, Cochise by six lengths.
Byrnes said: "This horse is improving and the form worked out well from his win the last day. He is in over the Christmas and he'll probably run at Limerick where he is in with a mandatory penalty. In his point-to-point days I used to have difficulty finding a rider for him as he fell four days in a row.
"I was very disappointed with Solwhit. He was never travelling, I'd say it was a combination of the ground and a few quick runs. I'll give him a short break but you don't become a bad horse overnight and I hope he'll bounce back." (EM)
