The Galway INH Flat Race for 4-year-olds saw Teuchters Glory (16/1 into 12s) make an impressive winning debut in the hands of 7lb claimer Tom Feeney.

The Fame And Glory gelding made smooth headway on the outer running into the dip and, under a hands and heels ride, was pushed out to defeat Shakespeare’s Word (11/4). Coach Carter (11/4) was back in third, another five lengths away, with the 5/2 favourite Skol finishing back in seventh place.

The winner is a half-brother to three winners including this season’s dual bumper winner Glan. He cost E58,000 at last year’s Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.

Winning trainer Liam Burke, who was on lead-up duty, said: “He’s a fair beast — the type I’ve been waiting a few years now to get.”
