After his injury woes Jonathan Burke was back at the number one spot for the first time since April 5th when his mount, Heist a 14/1 shot, proved best in the Follow Kilbegganraces On Twitter Handicap Chase.
Pat Griffin 's son of Galileo, bred by Aidan and Annmarie O'Brien's Whisperview Trading Limited, has done plenty of his racing cross-channel but it's been a decent summer for him on home soil.
At the end of June he bagged the valuable Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown, and tonight's prize was also the biggest available of the session.
The successful six-year-old made use of his position down the bottom of the handicap by coming home best from a host that still had claims going to the last. Ultimately he had two and three parts of a length in hand over second placer Valours Minion
"I've been away all week so Adam and Dad having been doing them. Adam (Short) said he was bouncing so fair play to them," said James Griffin, son and assistant to Pat.
"He was unlucky in Perth last time as the ground went against him. He has to have good ground and daylight.
"He's only improving and was never right last year. His form shows that he's a different horse this year. I don't think his winning is done yet.
"He's always worked like a nice horse but just had a few things that we had to get the key to."
