Bold Emperor (11/2) was a wide margin winner of the Molloy Metals Wexford GAA Raceday Handicap Chase.

The son of Galileo out of a Giant's Causeway mare was always handy under Darragh O’Keeffe and led before four out. He was ridden clear after two out to beat Optical Confusion by fifteen lengths with another two and a quarter lengths back to Na Caith Tobac in third.

It was a second win over fences for the nine-year-old whose trainer Tom Gibney went close earlier on the card with Hannon The Trim handler has had three winners and three seconds from his last six runners.

"I'm delighted for Fenian (Reilly),” said Gibney.

“There was a couple of lads involved in this horse but now it's just Fenian. He was third here last year and probably just went a bit too quick that day and stopped. He did well to get home in much tougher conditions than today.

"We are after having a bunch of seconds so to get the win today was brilliant. He will head to Galway now with anything else than is in good form. I would think he will go for the Galway Blazers if he gets in.

"Darragh got off him the last day in Ballinrobe and said he would get three miles no bother. He said it rode more like a three mile race today and took plenty of getting."
