Bob Le Beau has Harrington confident
Jessica Harrington is confident Bob Le Beau can continue his excellent run of form when he goes for Group Three glory in this evening's Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown.
The four-year-old has finished in the first two on his last seven starts and ran a fine race at this track last time, going down by just a neck to the reopposing Sense Of Purpose
Harrington feels a drop in distance may also aid his cause.
"He has been brilliantly consistent and I'm sure if he runs his usual race he'll be there or thereabouts," said Harrington.
"He seems in really good form and is versatile regarding trip.
"The mile and six (furlongs) he faced last time might have just stretched him and he could be better suited by dropping back to a mile and a half."
David Wachman 's Mount Athos was a creditable fourth in the Chester Cup before occupying the same position in a valuable Haydock handicap last time.
The County Tipperary handler sees no reason why the four-year-old should not go well stepping into Pattern company for the first time.
Wachman said: "He's in good form and I was happy enough with his run in Haydock the last day.
"He ran well from a wide draw and they didn't go much of a gallop, which didn't really help us.
"He ran a solid race and hopefully he will again."
A field of just six runners have been declared, with Sense Of Purpose, Leceile Looks All Right and Marksmanship completing the line-up.
