Trainer Ger Lyons continued his excellent recent run when his Blue Soul make it 13th time lucky in landing the Racing Again Tomorrow Fillies & Mares Handicap at Tipperary.
The daughter of Blue Point was making a quick reappearance here, having enjoyed little luck in running when mid division at the Curragh on Friday.
Sent off 6/1 to recover losses here, the James Ryan ridden three-year-old was produced with a well timed challenge to head long time leader Red Heel over a furlong out. Favourite Oriental Dancer gave chase inside the final furlong but had no more to offer in the last 100 yards.
The final challenge came from Morning Approach who sat last under Billy Lee for much of the contest before being brought with a strong late run which just failed by half-a-length.
Shane Lyons said: “I’m absolutely chuffed to bits for Declan Landy as that’s the first winner he’s bred himself.
“James was excellent on her. He knew there was going to be a good gallop, but he had a good clock in his head. He said she idled a little in front so there is still a bit left there and might improve stepped up in trip.
“Chris (Hayes) rode her at the Curragh and got into a fair bit of trouble but fair play he looked after her and Ger said we’ll run her back.”
