Ceroc in a first-time visor, was a 28/1 winner of the 2m4f handicap hurdle and, in the process, gave Phillip Enright a quick double.

The latter had been successful on Troubled Times in the previous contest.

Ceroc, placed in a bumper at Naas last year and making his handicap debut, was one of many in with a chance turning for home and went on two out. The strong-travelling Banks Boy looked a big threat and was produced to challenge on the run-in but the winner pulled out a bit more close home to prevail by half a length.

Winning trainer Edward O'Grady commented: "he has been disappointing but seemed to get his mojo back.

"Funny enough he ran two good races for Philip (Enright) before and then was disappointing and then he has ridden him again today. We thought he was a nice horse but he lost his way a bit.

"I think the track is important to him as he ran well in Navan and Naas and he needs more of a galloping track.

"If I had ducks at the moment I'd have to teach them how to swim because they might just drown! Things are improving though."
