When you've got a Ballydoyle colt by Deep Impact out of Peeping Fawn expectations are going to be sky high. Now a three-year-old the animal in question is called Wisconsin and he brought up a Tipperary double for connections when justifying odds of 4/9 in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

Seamie Heffernan was on the opening Aidan O'Brien winner, Murillo whilst it was daughter Ana that took the reins of the Curragh second placer from 12 days back, Wisconsin.

He took over from the front-running Lucknow under two furlongs out. Possibly getting a little lonely then inside the last, Wisconsin held on by three parts of a length from Steel Prince

They left Harrana seven lengths back in third.

"He stays very well and learned plenty from his first run. He keeps galloping and is very genuine," was the winning rider's reaction.

"He got a lovely lead, we went a nice gallop and I think he'll progress and even stay further in time.

"I know he has an entry in Ascot. Whether he goes there or not or even has a run in between, I don't know. We'll see what happens."

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Liam Walsh, that D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Almontaser (FR), had attempted to weigh out with an unapproved body protector. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that this was his third ride on the racecourse and he had used the same body protector on the two previous occasions. He added that he was not made aware at any time of the correct equipment as required by rule. James Feane, Authorised representative for John James Feane attended this enquiry. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.J. O'Keeffe was in breach of R10 in relation to body protectors and suspended him for 7 racedays.
