The Ado McGuinness trained Beau Michael will retire after running his 100th race in the Crowne Plaza Race And Stay Handicap (5.30pm) at Dundalk today.

The 10-year-old gelded son of Medicean is one of the most popular horses in training and has won a total of fifteen races in a career spanning eight years.

A winner on the Flat, over Hurdles and over fences Beau Michael amassed over €250,000 in prizemoney for his owners the Total Recall Racing Club.

Remarkably in 54 races over hurdles and fences Beau Michael never fell.
