There was an 11-minute delay to the final race in Tramore as Barometer had to be reshod, and he was the horse who led them back in after a decisive victory.
Colin Keane took the ride for John Murphy and this gave him a double at Tramore and an across-the-card treble after also bagging a winner on the Curragh's afternoon card.
It wasn't long before Keane sent the 7/2 chance to the head of affairs in this extended two mile handicap for four-year-olds plus rated 47-65.
The pair made the rest and kicked racing into the final quarter of a mile. The seven-year-old gelding got first run on the favourite Swelltime who couldn't reel him in.
Barometer drew three and three quarter lengths clear of the 5/2 favourite. Walnut Beach was another length back in third at 9/2.
Keane said: He said: "I jumped off to be positive. I thought one or two would go with me, but we kind of just ended up in front.
"It wasn't initially the plan, but we kind of got left there and got to do it on our own terms.
"He is a big, straightforward, genuine horse and gets the trip well. It's nice to get one for John and George Murphy."
Keane won race four on Wojood and the Listed sprint at the Curragh on Mauiewowie
