The money certainly came late on for Barnavara (6s into 5s) prior to the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden at the Curragh and she delivered in taking style for owners Alpha Racing and trainer Jessica Harrington.

Shane Foley was soon catching the eye in a prominent posse towards the near side aboard the first-time out daughter of Calyx.

Another filly beginning her career in this six furlong affair was Kilmood Susan (33s into 28s). She ran with a lot of credit but had no answer to Barnavarra inside the final furlong and four lengths separated them come the finish.

Mrs Harrington was also responsible for the fifth home, 33/1 newcomer Gloriously Glam

“She was up here the other morning on the Curragh on softish ground, the first time we had her on grass, and we were delighted with her," reported the Commonstown operator afterwards.

“Shane said she was grand over six furlongs and she would probably like better ground.

“She might have another run and then go to Ascot for the Albany.

“We’ll see how she comes out of that but she won very easily.

“The other little filly, Gloriously Glam, ran great too. She finished fifth and was drawn on the far side with all the action up this side.”

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mount Parnassus trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Deo Vero trained by David J. Geary, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run.
