Tin Town Boy (12/1) was the only course and distance winner taking part in the Ladbrokes Feeling Lucky Handicap at Galway and he proved his fondness for Ballybrit again with a ready victory.

On his comeback run at Navan in May the veteran 12-year-old finished seventh in a 14-runner handicap over a mile and five.

He then took second a couple of weeks later in a two mile handicap hurdle at Sligo behind Stop The Clock, a race his trainer Harry Rogers alluded to as he said: “He was unlucky the last day over hurdles. He likes it around here and the ground suited. They went fairly quick.

“He can go to Sligo now on Thursday for a handicap hurdle.”

Tin Town Boy improved into contention three furlongs in today’s mile and a half handicap before hitting the front over a furlong out. Chris Hayes pushed him out for a three length result over Quick Jack (6/1). Tony Martin’s Quick Jack was subject of plenty of money this morning from 8/1 to 4/1. Benash at 18/1 grabbed third-placed prize money for John Carr and Colin Keane.
