The Richard Morrissey owned and trained Bach To Whitingbay ran out an impressive winner of the concluding race at Cork, the August Bank Holiday Racing INH Flat Race.

Ridden by Declan Queally, the son of Bach won at Gowran on his racecourse debut last month and he followed up in style this evening.

Co Waterford based Morrissey, who recorded his first racecourse success with Fromthecloudsabove at Wexford in June has now recorded three winners in less than a month.

Bach To Whitingbay was sent off the 7/2 joint favourite and he improved to lead over five furlongs out.

He was ridden clear with two furlongs left to race, keeping on strongly from there to record an easy eight length success. Spa Hill (25/1) kept on well to take second under Rachel Blackmore for John Nicholson while Love On Top (4/1) was just a nose back in third under Ambrose McCurtin for John Joe Walsh

Morrissey said afterwards: "I have my licence seven weeks and that is my third winner.

"He was impressive at Gowran but his point-to-point form was good.

"He was ten lengths clear and a fence clear on two different days but he fell at the last both times.

"He pulled muscles in his shoulder and that’s why he was off but he was back in work twelve months before Gowran and he was hopping fit.

"He is for sale but I heard nothing back from the people who contacted me after Gowran.

"He might go to the Doncaster Sales or else he could go for a winners of two at Galway.

"He is a brilliant jumper.

"I have three in for the summer and I’ve mostly point-to-pointers for the winter."
