She may have drifted from 7/1 out to 10/1 on track but there was money about earlier for Red Lemonade and she scored on handicap debut in race two at Tramore.
This Book Your Table For New Year’s Day Handicap Hurdle saw many with hopes until late on in the two miler. Knockraha Boss had every chance when not fluent at the last, whilst it was then left to the Trevor Ryan-ridden Red Lemonade to touch off Musical Ava on the line for a head success.
The aforementioned Knockraha Boss ended up a length and a quarter back in third.
Owned, trained and bred by Willie Austin, the man that bred Danoli, Red Lemonade was continuing a good spell for the Cloughjordan operator after a couple of wins recently with The Chapel Field.
The Chapel Field was a beaten favourite when bidding for a hat-trick at Cork on Sunday.
However Red Lemonade had Austin and Trevor Ryan back on track here and the latter commented: "She toughed it out well, albeit she was hanging left all the way up the straight. You'll probably see her better going the other direction, she jumps a bit left too.
"We went too slow for her the whole way, she was very keen but handled the ground no problem. A more galloping track will suit."
The Stewards fined Brian Francis Cawley, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Lady Of The Rea, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Lady Of The Rea in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
