Val O'Brien's lengthy trek from Athenry proved worthwhile as his Trenchtown Rock (20/1) came out on top in the Garry Flood Landscaping Handicap Hurdle at Wexford.
Ryan Treacy was on the lightly-weighted Big Bad Bob gelding and though Littlestickarubarb (12/1) tried hard she couldn't quite match the winner who prevailed by half a length.
Market-leaders Show And Go (2/1 favourite) and Lusis Naturea (3/1) didn't come up to expectations in ninth and fifth positions respectively.
"He had a good run in Sligo and he just seemed to improve for it as it was his first run in a handicap," said O'Brien.
"He was only beaten by eight and a half lengths there and had met with interference.
"He is in at Listowel on Tuesday in an opportunity race and he'll run again if he gets in. Ryan will ride him again."
C.D. Maxwell, rider of Jamies Sister trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
C.J. Maher, rider of Realta Dawn trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Show And Go, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
D.P. Holden, rider of Show And Go, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.
