Assemble made a bright start over fences when landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse.
Trained by Joseph O’Brien for Gigginstown House Stud, the 4/1 chance generally jumped well and led soon after his only real mistake at the penultimate fence.
The six-year-old son of Getaway kept on well on the run-in for Rachael Blackmore to see off the persistent challenge of Opposites Attract by three quarters of a length.
The pair pulled 12 lengths clear of 9/4 favourite Diol Ker in third.
O’Brien’s assistant Brendan Powell said, “He’d done a bit of point-to-pointing and Rachael said on the whole he jumped well. He got a bit close to the second last but it’s a lovely start.
“He’ll come on for the run but has galloped the whole way to the line with his head down. He’s very honest.
“Rachael said the ground is bottomless but he’s coped with it. He’s such a good mover that he would be better on better ground.
“He’ll stay well but is not a slow horse. He’s got a good cruising speed and Rachael said she was happy with him the whole way around.”
