Another for Laois with Coughlans

Mon 20th Jul 2009, 19:44

Coughlans Locke became the second winner on the night trained in Co. Laois joining Sharon Dunphy's Lus Na Hoiche when he landed the Blue Thunder Fast Food Claremorris Handicap for Portarlington-based Kieran Cotter.

This fellow was ridden by Shane Gorey and he was losing his maiden tag at the eleventh attempt when comfortably beating Silly Dancer by three and a half lengths.

Cotter said: "He needs a cut in the ground. He has loads of pace and he had a bad draw there so I told Shane to sit out the back. He'll probably run at Naas on Wednesday. We brought him to England a few times but he disappointed."
