“Patrick [Mullins] said she could have gone round again,” Ger Flynn, travelling head lad to Jim Bolger, reported after Annie Power hacked up in the mares bumper at Wexford.

Prominent throughout she picked up the lead again over two furlongs out and fairly sprinted away in the final furlong for a 15-length verdict.

The mare is now two from two in bumpers after winning in Galway at the start of the month. She won at odds of 9/10 that day and was the 6/4 favourite this evening.

“We’re delighted with her. She improved again from Galway and Patrick said she improved no end,” Ger Flynn added.

“She was entered in a mile and six maiden and I think she’ll run in one after winning two bumpers. She could be a very good mare.”

She is owned by Eamon Cleary who played hurling for Wexford and is now a Dubai-based businessman.

The race for the minor honours was won by Ourbeautifuldream (3/1) who beat Keith’s Delight (16/1) on debut into third by six and a half lengths.
