Dual point-to-point winner Annamatopoeia finally got off the mark over fences on the racecourse proper, as she landed the Follow Us On Facebook Mares Beginners Chase.
Successful in a maiden hurdle at Thurles in November of 2014, the nine-year-old made her racecourse debut over fences in December of 2015.
She was placed in a Grade 3 at Cork in December of last year, and finally made the breakthrough this evening on her sixteenth start over the larger obstacles.
Sent off at 6/1, the Benny Walsh (rode a double at Grennan point-to-point yesterday) ridden daughter of Luso was settled behind the leader Longhouse Music
She improved into a share of the lead with Rock On The Moor from three out and the duo had a good battle from there.
Annamatopoeia just edged to the front at the last, and she stayed on best on the run-in to score by a length and three parts.
Rock On The Moor, who was sent off the 4/7 favourite, had to settle for second under Robbie Power for Jessica Harrington, while She's Everything (33's to 25's) was twenty-six lengths back in third under Denis O'Regan for Stephen Mahon. Kalopsia was still in with every chance in third when she crashed out at the last.
The winner is trained in Co Wexford by Brian Jordan, who had a winner at Rathcannon point-to-point yesterday, while she is owned by Richard Eustace.
