Angel Palm bounced back to form when showing a smart turn of foot to take the Baroneracing.com Mourne Handicap at Dundalk.

The Juddmonte homebred daughter of Dark Angel was angled right over a furlong out by Colin Keane to challenge and quickened up nicely when asked for her effort.

The Ger Lyons-trained filly, supported from 14/1 in the morning before going off at 9/1, had two and a quarter lengths to spare over top-weight Harry’s Bar at the line. Riot kept on late from off the pace to finish just a head further back in third.

Shane Lyons said, “Colin said either that surface or good to firm on the grass and six furlongs, preferably around a bend. Her main aim now for the rest of the season will be hunting for black type.

“We thought she was a black type filly before and hopefully she has got her confidence back there.

“She showed plenty of speed and is showing what we thought of her.”
