A half-brother to the recent winner for the Waterford yard, Darby's Turn, this son of Turtle Island was held up out the back in the very deep ground. Favourite, Savitha made a bad mistake two out when still in with every chance and at the business end, An Cathaoir Mor came home strongly on the run-in to foil, Farringdon by a head.

De Bromhead commented: "He deserved to win one, we always thought he was a decent horse. He ran well at Naas on Saturday (third behind Cousin Vinny) and the handicapper put him up four pounds, so we decided to come here and have a go. He is a bull of a horse and he takes a savage amount of work. He is an out and out chaser and we're looking forward to next year."

On Sizing Europe, he continued: "I'm waiting to hear back from the vet. He won't make Sunday and everyone is very disappointed. Hopefully I'll have a report back from the vet this evening." (EM)
