Wicklow trainer Lorcan Donnelly saddled his first winner 'under rules' when 25/1 shot Ameretto Son landed the Ingoldsby (QR)Handicap Chase at Punchestown.

Andrew Latta sent his mount to the front two out and he kept on well to score by a length-and-a-half from Kaitlin's Fancy

Donnelly hails from Redcross in County Wicklow and deals mainly with point-to-point horses.

"I have 11 in at the minute between point-to-pointers and ones for the track but more are welcome!" said Donnelly.

"He enjoyed being up there dictating it. If he's out the back he loses interest."
