Andrew Thornton deserves great credit for bouncing back from his fall from Traveller's Tales in race three, to land the sixth on the programme, the Annestown Handicap at Tramore on Invincible Don (breaking his maiden). Sword Of Honour was the well-supported 7/2 favourite here and he made a bold bid to give Pat Flynn and Danny Grant a double.
However he had to yield inside the last and Invincible Don (for local owner/trainer John Morrison) swept by in the closing stages to beat Magical Moon (a little short of room when he needed it) by half a length. The aforementioned Sword Of Honour was a neck back in third and they pulled eleven lengths clear of the fourth home, King High
Thornton revealed: "I rode him before in Dundalk and that race worked out well.
"He finished second in Limerick last year and he has always shown a small bit of ability.
"He's very laid-back and he just does what he has to.
"Hopefully he'll pick up another handicap." (DM & EM)
