Joseph O'Brien's A Year To Remember had a fortuitous victory in Downpatrick when left in the lead at the last in the extended two and a quarter mile maiden hurdle. Leomar had the race at his mercy when a few lengths clear coming to the final flight but made a mistake and fell.

A Year To Remember was clear of odds-on-favourite Super Bowl and made the most of his fortune by galloping up the hill to win by four and three quarter lengths at 14/1.

Super Bowl (4/6f) was unable to cut into his lead and passed the post second. Shamash (13/2) was a further six lengths away in third.

Winning jockey Jody McGarvey said: "I just got lucky. Bryan (Cooper on Leomar) got a run on me down the hill. He had me flat to the boards and if he had jumped the last he probably would have put it to bed.

"We had luck on our side and our lad stayed on up the hill. We had pretty weak opposition behind. He's just very limited ability-wise. He got a bit of luck, he was lucky to win one."
