The second longest priced runner in the field, Five Hawk Wings (25/1) completed a 337/1 double for the Stephen Mahon yard when landing the concluding Western People Flat Race at Ballinrobe.
Peter Casey 's mount exploded away from the furlong pole, showing a turn of pace in keeping with his breeding (by Hawk Wing out of a Sadler's Wells mare). Down the field on his two previous starts, the six-year-old (noseband on him here for the first time) eventually beat the favourite, Calibre Style by eleven lengths.
Calibre Style was completing a trying evening for the Robert Tyner team as their other runners, Byerley Babe Sterling Stuff and Kandinski all also finished in the 'silver medal' position.
Mahon's two winners came in the Tom Quinn colours and the now Galway-based handler said: "He's always gone well at home.
"He's a lovely horse and he'll likely go hurdling now. He jumps well and he's even schooled over fences.
"He could go for a winners bumper in Galway either.
"Our horses are all in good form but Aranhill Chief threw a spanner in the works with his run earlier (finished 9th behind Our Man Zebo .
"We had a few quid on Usa at 20s and this fella at 25s.
"I didn't appreciate things when I had them last time. I'll be holding on with both hands now though and I have a nice team of staff too.
"We only used to live two hundred yards apart myself and Peter (Casey, the winning rider) and only for him I mightn't even be in horses now.
"He didn't want to come here today as he got a bad cut over his eye lately and had to get seventeen stitches.
"I had to convince him to come telling him that McCoy or Geraghty would ride with that!" (TW & EM)
