Grecian Divine shed her maiden tag on start number eight at the Listowel festival last week. Now with the 'bit between her teeth' she went and doubled up when short-heading Sammyjade in the Book Hospitality Online Nursery Handicap at Naas.
Denis Hogan trains the successful Kodiac filly for Martin Burke, and Seamie Heffernan was aboard this time after Pat Smullen won on her nine days back.
Smullen was on Tilly Trotter for his boss, Dermot Weld, on this occasion, and that one ran satisfactorily for third. After always being up there Grecian Divine rallied close home to regain the lead near the line for her win over Sammyjade.
"That was super. She's a tough mare and she's probably even improving," said Hogan.
"She's been busy all year and done nothing but improve. She's taken a fair bit of racing and she's done it well.
"We'll see how she is but we'd have to look at the Birdcatcher now. It gives her about four weeks. If she's well we might hold on for that.
"That's great. She has a good pedigree and can improve again hopefully.
"I was disappointed for Seamie in Listowel as he missed the ride on her. His assistance worked today and he's a big asset on board.
"The owners are good supporters. The horses are all running well so happy days."
