training is a fun exercise and I'll be retiring very shortly. I don't want to do it anymore, I'm tired. I'm 85 and I'll be 86 shortly. I'm 40 years in this game, but it is only a fun exercise. It is not my living, I repair gearboxes for a living. It has always given me a kick - I don't drink or smoke, I have four horses and I live for them, that's all I do. It is hard to give up anything and I drove stock cars in the championship of the world three times. I was there for 25 years too.

I gave him a good shout because the likes of here suits him with the uphill finish. That's his third win and he's only a three thousand pound horse. He'll jump a fence but not for a while as he's still only seven. He doesn't run that often and we give him a bit of time between his races.

That was a good, game effort. Early on (in his career) he was 55 lengths behind Envoi Allen so he's no fool. He has ability. Today I thought would have been a bit soft for him. Shane (Fitzgerald) gave him a good ride and is very good value for his 7lb. There was (plenty of money for him this morning), I probably started it but it wasn't all mine. I'm 85 in another three weeks but there will be no partying as I don't drink.

I thought he would win today as he has been going well at home and had run well here before. I would have thought there would be another day in him. I was one of the first ones to put up Rachael Blackmore and that's that wee fella’s first winner. I've only have three horses. As long as you keep it fun, you're not getting into trouble!
