The Gordon Elliott trained Final Victory made an impressive winning hurdle debut in the Navan Maiden Hurdle at Navan today, scoring impressively under Paul Carberry. Fri 25th Feb
It's great to get a win eventually and he deserved it. He didn't get the run of the race a few times. He's a bit quirky too at this stage.
Terence O'Brien
he won this race off 109 two years ago and we were hoping he'd go on to better things but he has had problems with stomach ulcers and hasn't been enjoying his racing since. He went 'off' again after he won his handicap chase (last February) but we gave him a good break during the summer and I think his stomach ulcers are under control now. He'll continue to mix it between hurdling and chasing and jumps well.

His hurdles form was good . going back to his maiden win at Listowel. He had stomach ulcers and fell apart completely. He didn't want to know.

He's a decent horse and won a point-to-point last year but was a shade disappointing afterwards. He probably just needed the run at Galway last time. I always put him down as a good ground horse but he got through that alright.
