Sun 03rd MarSnake Oil draws sting from his rivals off the front
Snake Oil made most to justify odds-on quotes for the second split of the 2m4f maiden hurdle on Fairyhouse's card. Sun 03rd AprSupreme Novice an option for Bring On The Night
Bring On the Night got his jumping career off to winning start when landing the odds in division two of the Festival Trials Day Maiden Hurdle at Naas and could yet be part of Willie Mullins' powerful team at Cheltenham in just over a fortnight. Sun 27th FebConnell saddles first winner in Listowel
Barry Connell has had plenty of good winners as an owner but today he made the breakthrough as a trainer with Snake Oil in the bumper at Listowel. Sun 20th Sep
After race at Fairyhouse Sun, 3rd Apr, 2022 (1st)
It was nice to get that out of the way, on his Naas run he was entitled to win,. He was out for about 12 months with niggles. It's not ideal to be winning your maiden hurdle at this time of year. He's a chaser long term. I'm going to chance keeping him on the go. If we got a wet period during the summer there is a rated novice in Roscommon and then we could go to Galway. He'll go chasing then in the autumn. It's not ideal going out doing your own donkey work. He actually jumped well on the whole, I think he missed the second last when he was just idling. He's a classy kind of horse and we've always liked him. He had a few niggly issues but he's a seven-year-old now and a big strong horse so hopefully we get a clear run with him. He wouldn't want it any quicker than that, it's lovely ground today.

After race at Listowel Sun, 20th Sep, 2020 (1st)
This is a very lucky place for me and I rode three or four winners and rode my last winner here. I love coming down here. We have 30 in training and have a lot of young horses; there are a few that will be moved on at the end of the summer season and more than half the yard hasn't run yet, and hopefully we have one or two more nice types like him. I was sweating a bit on the ground but I walked it and spoke to Val O'Connell (Clerk of the Course) and he said there was plenty juice underneath. He is a proper horse and is the first proper horse I've run. We've had a few summer horses but this lad has a big future. He had a lovely run at Galway and Finny said he was still green there, so there is plenty of improvement to come and he is a super jumper. We might think about a winners' bumper at Tipperary in three weeks next and we were delighted to get Finny today as he is top class. Mark Bolger is working for us full-time and we have Roger Loughran and Garrett Cotter as work-riders, so we have very good riders at home; Kevin Brouder was riding a few for me and is out of action and Mark will ride a good few of them.
