Reports in which Sardinia (IRE) was mentioned
Dawn justifies favouritism under Walsh
Leave At Dawn justified favouritism in the Killarney Outlook Publications Handicap Hurdle, scoring under Mark Walsh for Charles Byrnes and JP McManus. Mon 11th MayRailway Tommy powers home in the north
Railway Tommy, with Barry Geraghty booked for the first time, saw out the three miles well in The Weatherbys Printing Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal. Tue 17th MarReview wexford 17th Mar
Cheltenham Festival-winning jockey Mikey Fogarty enjoyed more success at Wexford when the conditional rode a 263-1 trebleMon 17th Mar
Fogarty sparkles with 263/1 treble
Whilst lady luck had something to do with his two earlier winners, Cheltenham Festival winning jockey Mikey Fogarty needed no such intervention from above when bringing up a 263/1 treble (his first) at his local track on Mister Hotelier in the Micheal O'Murchadha Memorial Rated Hurdle at Wexford. Mon 17th MarNolan and Fogarty's luck is in
For the second time in as many races at Wexford the final flight claimed the horse in the lead as favourite Lipinski (fatal fall) came down when she had the race 'in the bag.' Again the beneficiaries were Paul Nolan and Mikey Fogarty as The Mooch took the spoils. Mon 17th MarSardinia to the fore in dramatic Wexford heat
Sardinia justified the faith of those that backed him into 9/2 from 7s but he was a pretty lucky winner of the opening Wexford Racecourse Supporters Club Maiden Hurdle. Mon 17th MarReview navan 9th Oct
The afternoon at Navan belonged to Joseph O'Brien, who not only bagged a hat-trick, but also broke the record for the most winners ridden in a seasonWed 09th Oct
112/1 treble for Joseph O'Brien at Navan
Leaving Belisarius' defeat at a price of 4/9 aside, it's been a day of days for Joseph O'Brien at Navan and the record-breaking jockey brought up a treble at odds of over 112/1 when Dysios took the first split of the Meath Handicap for owner Kieron Gammell and trainer Denis Cullen. Wed 09th OctJ P O'B now top of the pile
The name of the winning horse, i.e. Marvellous wouldn't be a bad description for Joseph O'Brien's effort in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden at Navan, a race that yielded success number 116 of the campaign thus beating Michael Kinane's score, the previous top total of 115, achieved in 1993. Wed 09th OctJoseph equals the record
In 1993 Michael Kinane set a record of 115 winners ridden in an Irish flat racing season. The same year Joseph O'Brien was born and today the young Ballydoyle pilot equalled his fellow Tipperary man's feat when Sardinia landed the October Maiden at Navan. Wed 09th OctTimikar continues Oxx revival
John Oxx has suffered a troubled year with a well-documented virus but recent results suggest the Currabeg maestro should enjoy a decent close to the season, and Timikar kept up the good work for the yard in the mile and a half maiden. Mon 30th Sep
After race at Wexford Mon, 17th Mar, 2014 (1st)
He is just not that good at jumping, and he took a few hurdles out the ground and it cost him a lot. I thought the blinkers would sharpen him up and they did to a certain extent. He will mix it now between the hurdles and flat, and hopefully we won't dis-improve him too much on the level!.
