Considering he won a 'point' as a four-year-old Champagne Fever is familiar for some time now with the technique of jumping fences. The now six-year-old was good on his initial encounter with the 'big ones' on the racecourse proper in the Connexus Communications Beginners Chase at Punchestown. Sat 16th NovGreat winning performance from Alexandre

Formidableopponent was hammered into 4/7 from odds against this morning for the Stars Of Tomorrow INH Flat Race at Punchestown but he disappointed as another one for money Joxer (20s into 12s) prevailed narrowly under Damien Skehan. Thu 13th Oct
After race at Cork Sun, 4th Nov, 2012 (1st)
He stuck at it well and all he does is stay. It wasn't the plan to make the running but he had no choice. He will stick to staying novice hurdles now and the dream would be to go for the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham in March. He will have to improve a lot from today. The ground was plenty heavy for him and he will be better on better ground. Today was a good pot to win and we have no immediate plans for him now.
C Byrnes
After race at Naas Sat, 21st Jan, 2012 (1st)
He deserved it and Robbie gave him a great ride. He won't do a whole lot more this year and may have one more run over a similar trip. He kept telling us he wanted more than two miles. He's a nice horse and will go hurdling next season.
