After race at Clonmel Fri, 9th Jun, 2023 (1st)
for a horse that can jump well, he made a lot of mistakes - whether it was down to the ground, or the speed they were going, I'm not sure. He is awful tough and genuine though. Jumping was never an issue until today - he was very good at Limerick the last day so we will give him the benefit of the doubt. He'll continue in summer chases now and I'm delighted for Denis (Enright, from Ballylongford) who is a good supporter of the yard. Denis has had two horses with me and both has won three races each.

The good ground has really brought out improvement in him. He's a lovely honest horse but he was just getting stuck in the winter ground. He'll keep going for now, we'll maybe freshen him up around July time and then go at the back-end again. It's unfortunate for his owner as he got caught up in work and he couldn't fly over from England. Hopefully he watched it and had a few quid on.

he always showed ability at home and the change in ground probably helped,. He looks like a big winter horse but I'd say he gets away on better ground and cheek-pieces and tongue-tie were a big help. He was catching his wind on sticky ground when pulling up over fences the last day. We'll see what the handicapper does and he'll keep going for the summer.
