The going at Fairyhouse for today's seven race card is soft, soft to heavy in places with the weather forecast predicting a breezy and dry afternoon. Sat 26th FebWork another nice prospect for Paul Fahey
Man O Work fulfilled the promise he showed on his debut to open his account in the second division of the four-year-old maiden hurdle at Naas this afternoon. Sun 30th Jan
After race at Listowel Fri, 22nd Sep, 2023 (1st)
After his fall in Leopardstown (at the Dublin Racing Festival in February) his confidence level has come right back through the roof. Things didn’t go to plan today, they often don’t in these big fields, and we had to not panic and go to plan B but it’s worked out well. Plan A was to be handier. I gave him a squeeze and he winged the second last and the last. He’s an amazing little horse. He’s still a bit novicey and is still only a five-year-old. This winter went horribly for him, the ground went against him and things didn't work out. We pulled the plug, he had a lovely run when finishing second in a flat race in Tramore and this race was the plan. He likes Listowel and finished second in the Lartigue Hurdle last year but last Monday I was down here and we were debating whether to run, with all the rain that fell. We walked the track this morning and with fresh ground, decided to take our chance. He missed the break and we were hoping to be closer to the pace, but plan B came into operation and Cian didn't panic. Trainers make plans but jockeys have to be allowed use plan B and they are the ones who win races. He was brilliant, is based with Jessica Harrington and rides out for me in the afternoon. I think, eventually, we will have a crack at a nice Flat race somewhere along the line with Man O Work.

After race at Limerick Sun, 13th Mar, 2022 (1st)
We always knew he was a nice horse and he was running a big, big race at Fairyhouse (in a Grade 3 juvenile hurdle) when he came down but the young lad (Cian Cullinan) was confident he would have given the winner a run for his money. Cian unfortunately broke his thumb and would have been riding him today but didn't pass fit. He couldn't claim in the graded race at Fairyhouse and could have claimed today so it was unfortunate. In fairness, it was a good performance and I don't know where we're going with him. That was the first time he got a smack behind the saddle and he responded. He is a pretty decent little horse but I didn't think he had enough experience to run in the Boodles Hurdle at Cheltenham. I thought he had the quality and the rating for it but he had never run on the flat and I didn't think he had enough racing experience run there. Apart form the ones gone to Cheltenham, he is probably the best of the rest and we'll talk to the owner regarding plans. I don't know what is left for him in Ireland except Grade Ones and that is a big step up.

After race at Naas Sun, 30th Jan, 2022 (1st)
He’d a lovely run at Christmas. He’d never had a schooling race and was very green. We were hoping he’d reproduce that and he did. Hopefully there is a nice bit of improvement to come with him. It’s very good for Charles (O’Reilly), a homebred winner so it’s sweet. We’ll probably find a winners-of-one for him. He’s only a four-year-old so we won’t be hard on him and he could improve for next year.
