that trip and ground is exactly what he wants and he'll run in all those Nationals. He likes to go left-handed in particular and he stays really well. She gave him a peach of a ride and Danny (Mullins) had to get off him to ride Willie's (Augustin, unplaced) so he won't be best pleased!. He is a Kerry National type of horse and that will be his ultimate goal. He was 6lbs wrong today so hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him today. Hopefully this could be his year.

Danny is brilliant, he's a top-class young man and brings a bit of fun, and everything, to our place - he's my Ruby Walsh! . He knows all those horses so well and it's a huge advantage. He's done schooling and knows everyone of them. He has a great knowledge of my horses and I knew when he was so far clear he’d know exactly how much he had left; they let him go a little bit too. he has a lovely chase mark of 124 and should get in to the Troytown, so I’d say we'll have a go at that; he’ll love the trip as he stays real well. He's a different horse all together going left-handed and doesn't even want to start going right-handed. He had a nice mark there off 107 (over hurdles) and it was there to be collected at some stage, on a going day.

He’s way better over fences obviously. That wouldn’t have been the strongest handicap chase ever but it’s great to win it. He was only beaten a length and a half in a hurdle race here two days ago, and that would probably have taken a little of the edge off him. Johnny Barry gave him an absolute peach of a ride. I asked him to give him a few breathers and give him a chance. He took him right back and filled him. He was very good.

Danny said when he jumped the last he didn't look around as we needed a winner to get us off the board!. He'll run in three-mile novice chases during the summer. He stays three miles well. He won his point-to-point and maiden hurdle over three miles but he's way better over fences. He's a great leaper. He can be a bit funny at the start but was great today. You couldn't but like him and hopefully, pleased God, he'll get a few more during the summer.
