142/1 Dundalk double for Whelan
After his double here on November 6th, Ronan Whelan repeated the feat with a 142/1 first and last race brace. A good evening's work for Whelan was completed when Political Policy came out on top in the Floodlit Friday Nights Rated Race. Fri 20th Nov3 up now for Hatch
Hatch Hall shed his maiden tag at the sixteenth time of asking on October 18th, and Karl Thornton's charge really has the hang of things now as he made it three-in-a-row by landing the first split of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap at Dundalk. Handicap. Fri 09th JanHavelock further advertises Levins' skills
Johnny Levins is doing well with a small string of horses and his handling of Havelock Ellis, winner of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap at Dundalk this evening, is a fine advertisement for the rookie trainer. Fri 14th NovReview dundalk 7th Nov

After race at Dundalk Fri, 9th Jan, 2015 (1st)
it's a special day as the rider as he is a nephew of part-owner Conor O'Neill and I'm delighted it's worked out as they've been great patrons in the yard. . he's an extraordinary horse; everything I've asked him to do he's done and more. Maybe I should ask him to win a Premier Handicap back on the turf!

I'm delighted he came out the right side of the photo as Donagh is a worse loser than I am! I'm delighted I put him on as I'd imagine the 10lb was a big help. This horse is an absolute star and doesn't know how to run a bad race. He makes my job easy as he's versatile trip wise and it (stepping up in trip) opens up the options. He's improving and is enjoying life so there's no reason to stop at the moment.

If any horse deserved to win it's him. I'm delighted Ronan won on him as he rides a lot of work for me. He's going the right way and he likes this place. I'm pretty confident we'll get another one with him. It makes my job easier now as he's versatile distance-wise.

After race at Dundalk Sun, 7th Sep, 2014 (1st)
We are starting to learn a bit about the horse now. I left him a bit short at Gowran hoping he would come on for the run, and you learn more about them in a race than you would in three weeks at home. It sped up the training process and tweeked his training at home. He'd been working well, and we quietly fancied him. Fergal Lynch was absolutely brilliant on him. He decided to come on the outside as he had a feeling he didn't want to be crowded. I half owe this one to Fergal. He's in again in a claimer on Thursday for €3,000 but I don't think I'd be allowed to run him. I'm delighted for the owners (David Byrne and Carol O'Neill) who are new people with me.
