I had thought about running him in a handicap chase at Punchestown but I don't know if he jumps well enough on good ground so I have been following the weather, with hurdles and chases. I told Richie 'do not come off the left-hand rail' and he was excellent. It saved four or five lengths and you really have to go wide at Cork when it gets chewed. There is no point in saying 'I hope the handicapper won't be too hard on us' but if we were going to lose our novice hurdle status, we might as well do it today with this pot. He was won three E40,000 races for us this year and has been a great horse. He doesn't get too high over his fences but he might jump well around a Topham (Chase at Aintree) where they only have to flick through them a bit and don't have to get too high. He has great owners, one is in America, one is a Yorkshireman and I'm really pleased for them.

After race at Gowran Park Sat, 20th Nov, 2021 (1st)
he had a terrible run in Galway a month ago and I have no explanation for it, he must just have been wrong. I did an onboard scope with him since and it didn't show anything so I said right we'll go back to the races. We threw the kitchen sink at him today and I think the blinkers have transformed him. he has to have light at his jumps and he gave him a beautiful ride. It's never any harm going wide around Gowran, it all suited with the small field - plenty of light and blinkers. He's a 130ish horse over hurdles and he's a big lump of a thing. I haven't had a clear run with him over fences and his jumping went to pot last year, he was splitting fences. He's been jumping a lot better at home and on his last two runs. Whatever was niggling at him last year seems to have cleared up. He definitely has a engine and it's nice to be able to put it together for a pot like this. A bit of soft ground would be important to him but wherever he goes next he'll definitely have blinkers on him.

After race at Tramore Thu, 15th Oct, 2020 (1st)
I decided to go this route rather than getting him handicapped over hurdles. He is a big baby and hopefully we can go the novice rated route with him now and visit our hurdles again some other time. I'll tip away over fences with him now and he is a lovely, lovely horse. I'm very pleased with that and it's good to get the beginners out of the way as you can spend six months trying to win one. We'll take it baby steps with him. His jumping was a bit hit and miss but that's normal.

After race at Ballinrobe Fri, 13th Apr, 2018 (1st)
He's (jockey Sean O'Keefe) going to be very, very good. He's flying at the points. I bought him as a foal and he won his two schooling races — a hurdle and a bumper. I really fancied him today. I knew he'd love the ground and we like him an awful lot. It's a long way from Ballinrobe to Wexford so I don't come unless we have a fair old chance and he's done it really well. It was a beautiful ride and he's a very good kid. I own him half shares with an English owner of mine so it's all good.
