he jumped great but I was maybe in front a bit soon but I had to take the run (up the inside) when i got it. Away We Go was winning his first race since finishing second, under Townend, to Liberty Counsel in the 2013 Irish National, and was winning his third race for Mullins and his seventh career race.

a big factor has been the wet summer - we kept going with a number of horses that we would otherwise throw out to grass but I didn't bother throwing them out and kept them in. Normally we wouldn't get going until October but by then, we had a huge amount of winners and the easy ground made that possible. It was only in the last couple of weeks than someone said to me about Aidan's record.

He did it nicely and he'll probably stay hurdling for the time being,. The overall plan for the season is to mix it over hurdles and fences. His pedigree suggests he wants this trip but I think we'll be able to vary it with him. I've not had him that long. I liked the way he put his head down the second time when I thought he was beaten.

Going into this race I thought Fosters Cross would win and that we were just tilting at windmills, but Eddie (Power) took his opportunity well and made it look easier than it was. We will head to Killarney next for the Graded Handicap Chase over 2 1/2 miles.

I always liked this fellow. He is pretty versatile as regards ground. I'll talk to the owners about where he'll go next. I was happy with the way Eddie rode him - he had the balls to take the initiative. I have ten horses in the yard.

I was susprised when he won his bumper at Kilbeggan and he should make a lovely chaser in time. I've been training a good few years but the Kilbeggan win was my first winner although I've had a few point to point winners too.
