I got a phone call to say he (Ricky Doyle - got fall earlier on the card) was sore and that he wouldn't be riding,. It’s just brilliant though. When you feel like it’s not going to go your way and then suddenly it does. The owners have been great — for a syndicate in particular — they’ve been very patient. He absolutely lost his way for two years. He had a condition called kissing spines — I just wasn’t aware of it for a long time. When we did finally discover that he’s been like a new horse. It took time for him to get his confidence back but this season he really has and he’s just going from strength to strength again. He’s tiny and though he’s a real stayer I was thinking today going to the last - just how well will you stay, but he did.

he is a tricky customer and does his own thing. It was going to happen one day we just didn't know when and he'd go on any ground. We'll look for something similar and he'll go back over fences too.

it's unbelievable - I wish we could run all our horses here!. He's a good little horse this fella and I've run him in a few decent races and he wasn't a million miles away in a E100,000 race here at the beginning of the season. He's very quirky and twice he's been in a good position in a race but dropped himself out to an impossible position and came home like a freight train, so we've just been trying to figure him out. I think we are getting the hang of it and he was brilliant today. We tried these tactics the last day in Punchestown but they absolutely walked. I said to David Mullins that day 'are we getting it right or wrong' and he said you're spot on but the race didn't go to plan and to stick with it. That's what gave us the confidence to try and ride him the same today. He's in a 2m4f race at Punchestown and that's the one I've wanted to go for all season but I don't think he's going to get into it.
