We ran him in a snaffle with no noseband which may have made a difference but in fairness he jumped great and the other two didn't jump as well. Ruby said he was really enjoying himself, and was a different horse than the last day. He hasn't missed a beat all season and, as long as the ground is soft, he'll go to Punchestown.

He's very well and has come back better than ever, so hopefully we can look forward to a nice season,. It won't be his Derby, but he's well-in at the weights so we're letting him blow the cobwebs off and see where we go after that.

We had been considering the two mile Grade 1 race but we felt that this would suit him better. It's possible that we could bring him to France if we could find something for him there. The other option is that he probably has a hurdle mark that we can exploit. Two miles is his optimum trip, on soft ground. We used to think over hurdles that he wasn't the toughest in the world. Over fences though he's been a revelation.

he was a bit keen early and recovered well from two mistakes. In fairness it was a good performance and he keeps surprising me.

He handled the ground well. I'm not sure jumping is his first love as he was a bit sketchy over some of them but he shows lots of speed at home and should win another novice chase. I don't know how far up the ladder he will go over fences though.

I'd say we were a bit lucky!. He is owned by a French syndicate, ML Bloodstock Ltd, which includes French Champion Trainer Guy Cherel. We'll head to Punchestown with Twinlight but I've no immediate race in mind.
