It’s good to see him back. He was keen early on in the race but he jumped well especially over the last when he wanted one to win he gave it to Paul,.

That was a good exhibition of jumping and he did it well. He likes this track,. Ruby thought he was in control the whole way. I thought they were lining up behind him at the third last but Ruby said he was very comfortable in front. I thought he was going to be beaten going to the last but the next thing he just flew it, was gone and put the race to bed so I'm very happy with that. He's better right-handed and Leopardstown is left-handed at Christmas. We might head towards Limerick for the new Grade 1 over two-and-a-half miles. That race has been lucky enough for us over the years. I don't know if he wants that heavy type of ground that they might get in Limerick but we'll have to take what we get. I'm easy enough about trip with him. It was the fact that the race was in Punchestown was why I ran him here.

He’s back to himself. Paul was brave on him and said he was going to ride him like that. He enjoyed himself out in front with his ears pricked all the way. Hopefully he’ll go to Punchestown now.

Patrick getting down to 11st 2lb paid off!. He jumped fantastic and way better than his first run. I was a bit worried would he be able to jump at the speed they would be going here. He jumped out, made his own running, and jumped very well. I'm very happy to have won that race with him. All the rain we got last night was a big help to him but certainly he seemed to have plenty of pace there. I don't know what route we're going to go but you'd have to think as a Supreme Novices trial that he'd be good enough for that, but he'll certainly be entered for the other races like the Ballymore. Jumping the way he did that brings the Supreme Novice into the picture. After his first run I was a little bit worried but certainly the way he was there he'd be well able to jump with any novice. The speed he showed was very good. He got a nice bunch of horses off the bridle and we're on the way up I think. He's staying sound so fingers crossed. I don't know yet if he'll go straight to Cheltenham. We'll see how he comes out of it. Carter Mckay (3rd home) had a nice run but he'll have to go up in trip I'd think.

That was a good performance. He jumped like a chaser rather than a hurdler, and to do that on that ground takes a fair bit of ability. I thought at the third last that he'd blown up and then he came back on the bridle again. I think I saw today what we saw as a bumper horse. Hopefully he stays right now for the season, and he'll be a nice staying novice hurdler. He'll come on hugely from that.
