I've had one winner in Ireland point-to-pointing and two over in England point-to-pointing. It's my fourth winner overall. I worked in Cullentra for about six years when I was younger and decided to make the move to England to see if I could get more opportunity and experience. I'm back on a holiday so it is kind of a lucky ride!. He loved that good ground, the uphill finish and the sun on his back. She gave him a great ride. She held on to him and when she brought him a little bit wide he just went 'oh I'm gone'. It was a very good ride. She was so composed. She's ridden in point-to-points and rides out in Cullentra a lot. She'd be one of the good work riders and schools over fences as well. She's a very accomplished rider. That was great to see her do that. He's a lovely horse and there should be something for him in Galway. It's lovely to have a dual-purpose horse like that who can do both. He's a quality horse and he enjoyed that. Getting his head in front will make him feel good about himself.

he didn’t jump great, but he travelled fairly well. Turning in I had a good bit left and I just kinda wanted to be there in case he did make a mistake. In fairness to him, he stuck at it. I’d imagine he would progress. He has plenty of speed but would want to brush up on his hurdling. But those hurdles are very forgiving. They’re rubber, so when you hit one a belt they don’t really learn from it. He was getting away with it out there but hopefully his jumping will sharpen up and I’d say he’ll be okay going forward.

I was keen to put a claimer on him but Shane said 'no I'm riding as I think he has a great chance' so I said 'fair enough, just win on him so'. He gave him a lovely ride. I had him in last week in Galway but I said we'd wait for this as it's good prize-money. They went fast enough and he likes a bit of trouble; he's been second to a lot of good horses and the horse that beat him in Limerick is now rated over 100. He hasn't had a bad run. Earlier this year the horse that beat him in Leopardstown was third in Royal Ascot while the lad (Sovereign) who beat him last year in Galway happened to win the Derby!. He has great form and I'm just delighted we can get a win for Mr Zhang. He's a Fast Company so he needed a bit of ease in the ground. I thought the handicapper had been a bit hard on him, putting him up 10lb for his last three runs I think that's unfair on horses in Ireland. I think if you finish second you should be dropped 2lb because it means you are trying.
