An enquiry was held to consider interference after the last hurdle in the back straight involving the winner John Betjeman (GB) ridden by Joe Anderson and Bannow Bay Boy (IRE), placed second, ridden by Cameron Iles.
Being a 10Ib Claiming Conditional, Iles was accompanied in the enquiry by a jockey coach.
Anderson was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he manoeuvred his mount left-handed, bumping and carrying Bannow Bay Boy (IRE) off its intended line, when it ought to have been obvious that interference would have occurred, after the gelding jumped the hurdle upsides John Betjeman (GB).
