Permission was given for Skyhill (IRE) to be mounted on the track and go to post early.
The winner, Carrick Roads (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Newton Abbot on 29 October 2020 where the gelding was pulled up.
The representative of Colin Tizzard explained that Carrick Roads (IRE) may have appreciated the drop in class to a Class 4 and the better ground on this occasion, which was officially described as Good to Soft, having previously run in a Class 3 on Heavy ground.
Their explanation was noted.
Following the race, Shane Quinlan reported that Connetable (FR), which was pulled up, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding finished with a wound left-hind.
Billy Garritty reported that Late Date (IRE), which started joint-favourite and was pulled up, weakened quickly from the second-last fence; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Lex Talionis (IRE), placed fourth, finished with a wound left-hind.
