Kevin Brogan, the rider of Skeaping (GB), placed fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post before being beaten a neck for fourth place.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Brogan was suspended for 2 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fourth.
Following the race, Cillin Leonard reported that Doux Pretender (FR), placed second, hung left- handed and Charlie Hammond reported that Highland Bobby (GB), placed seventh, ran too freely.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Skeaping (GB), placed fifth, lost its right-fore shoe and that Ragtag Rascal (IRE), placed eighth, lost its right-fore shoe.
