Approximately ½ a furlong out, War Glory (IRE), placed second, edged right-handed at the same time as Sir Maximilian (IRE), placed fourth, edged left-handed, resulting in both runners making brief contact, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of both War Glory (IRE) or Sir Maximilian (IRE).
The performance of The Gill Brothers (GB), which started joint favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
It was noted that Stuart Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than The Gill Brothers (GB) was forced to race wide without cover on this occasion.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
